Dkoukaku Kagune
Koukaku shell red kagunes that are released from the shoulder area are considered koukaku types.
Dkoukaku kagune. The rc cells are released from a kakuhou piercing the skin and the released rc cells form the kagune. Koukaku kagune come in various shapes and sizes but are always solid and hard. Koukaku kagune have a high density of rc cells but maintain an unchanging shape which lowers the rc cell usage. The kakuhou sack is found in different areas of a ghoul depending on the type of kagune a ghoul has.
A kagune is a ghouls predatory weapon that functions as its weapon or claws. They are best suited for defense but can also be shaped into swords and used for offence. They form from the upper back just below an ukaku user. Due to the high density of rc cells often found in this kagune type koukaku kagunes are relatively heavy and pretty robust.
The kagune is released when a ghoul becomes excited and the rc cells held in their kakuhou sack are stimulated. A kagune can be repeatedly hardened and softened at will by the ghoul. It is usually as red as blood the colors are varied in the anime to distinguish the kagune of each individual flexible like the flow of water but firm and sturdy.
